"Education, education, education" may have been a political motto however at Academus, we recognise that education is the pathway to personal, economic and societal success. We therefore recognise that not all students are the same and that not one size fits all. It is precisely for this reason that we match our students to individualised programmes rather than trying to fit individuals to a fixed template which may or may not be to the best interest of the child. Academus prides itself in having a package of programmes to help each student focus on developing essential skills required for progression into the Upper School and beyond.

Academus is an online school which offers a safe and secure environment where students interact with their Course Tutor, subject teachers and other students just like they would in a traditional school environment. There is no classroom disruption time and our zero tolerance bullying policy makes it an ideal learning environment for all.

Teaching and Learning

No two people are alike in their learning and processing ways and this is true of children in education. Students therefore interact with their learning in their own individual learning style within the strict Academus teaching and learning guidelines. Our emphasis is on providing a pathway that encompasses all learning styles. Students learn best within their preferred learning style, be it visually, auditory or kinaesthetic and all our lessons are devised with all three combinations thus our lessons are devised with learning styles at the forefront of planning, in fact supporting differentiation.

Academus believes in respecting and supporting individuality in students and therefore we offer a framework of support and learning to promote success and achievement. All KS3 Pathways are one year course however we are happy to discuss each individual student’s needs with you and will strive to support you in providing the best for each and every one of our young person.
