About Us

Who We Are

Thank you for your interest in Academus, the school of the 21st century. At Academus, we believe that learning is about processing information to make smart choices. Using state-of-the-art technology to bring the classroom to you, we have developed a wide choice of programmes that will help meet your individual needs and achieve your goals. Whether success on your chosen programme takes you to university, the world of work or on a vocational pathway, at Academus we are committed to helping you develop the skills to succeed in life.

Why Did We Call Ourselves Academus

Academus comes from the Greek word Akademos (or Hekademos). Academus was a hero from Attica whose name was linked to the sacred area (North West of Athens) named the Academy. Plato famously founded his school there, and Plato’s students were called academics.

Academus believes in education as a right for all and therefore we take our ethos of learning from the Ancient Greeks; hence we are Academus, a learning portal offering learning without barriers.

What We Do

We want to help you become an independent learner, able to think, learn and work with others in your chosen programme of study. This will be facilitated via live classrooms and access to recorded lessons, all delivered by qualified and experienced teachers. You will also have a personal tutor to support and guide you through your studies, help you develop confidence and become a successful, independent learner capable of achieving both personal and academic goals. We are here to support you, literally at the click of a button.

In addition to exploring the range of programmes that we offer at Academus this guide will also provide information on how to seek advice as well as introduce you to the programme to help you access high quality education that meets your needs to fulfil your goals.

We offer education to students of all ages; our expertise lies in providing individualised solutions at:
